What new ideas are bubbling in you these days?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for June 09, 2009:

Exciting and creative new ways to teach science to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students are churning within me!  The students had a "greenhorn" for a teacher this year.  Yes, we've all been there, and I remember my early days as if they were yesterday, but... science is not an easy subject to teach.  There were plenty of struggles, tears and problems with the curriculum.  The teacher is moving because she is at the bottom of the ladder and she was bumped.  I asked her about the curriculum yesterday, and she informed me that she was taking it all with her.  Yikes!  Start from scratch?!?  Ego... be quiet!  I'm capable, I'm seasoned and I love science.  I can do this, and I will.  New ideas, new frontiers... another opportunity for growth and a chance to strengthen my skills as a teacher.

If she's taking it all with her then it wasn't good enough for your 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students anyway! And, neither was she.

You'll do marvelous experiments with baking soda, gummy worms, and Gorilla glue! LOL Can't wait to see the pictures!

Hugz!
