If you were a color, what would you be?

Posted on Mar 3rd, 2009 by Susan #1 : Balanced Susan #1
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for March 03, 2009:

Oh,  I love this question!
Today, I feel like tangerine.
It is so cold and windy outside here, but tangerine...
tangerine is warm~
like a sunrise...
or a sunset.
It is a swan's beak...
a splash of light.
Tangerine is a smile~
for friends and for those I have yet to befriend.
It is a giggle on a busy train...
a splash of color on a dismal day.
Tangerine is a feeling you get deep inside~
it's like a humming... reminding you that you're alive!
It is like a drink
for you
and a drink
for me...
Nice, bright, happy tangerine.
Won't you pick your tangerine crayon up, and color with it too?
Add it to your color palette and let creativity lead you...

I read that the color orange is centered in the stomach and spleen area, and “that shows vitality and physical energy coupled with a warm personality”…sounds inviting:)

Hello Mum’s the word!
Yes, I just read up on the orange chakra.  “It is the color of joy, enthusiasm and creativity and promotes a general sense of wellness.”  Ahhhhhhh… I feel like I am in a good place.  I’m glad you stopped by!

Hello Flowerchildatheart!
I’m happy that you’ve gone looking for your crayons.  I hope you find them and color something beautiful with them.
Hugs!

mmmm. When I was in Scotland I had mead, which is a tangerine colour. It was so delicious: sunshine in a mug.
Tangerine is the colour of sunshine. And one of my favourite Led Zepplin songs. :)

Crayons!!  Crayons!!  Honey!  Where are my crayons!!  Dang cat, won’t ever help out around the house.
Tangerine is a decidedly summer color, so it’s nice to think of in winter.

Oh Geo!  I knew you’d be along to play, sooner or later!  Glad you could join in on the fun!  Take your time.  Get out your crayons.  Smell them… take a deep breath.  Spill them out and look at them.  Which one are you today?

Flowerchildatheart… don’t drink too much mead, or you’ll be sorry later.  Prolly resulting in some coloring on the walls, etc!
Hugs!

Well, that dang cat refuses to learn how to make coffee, much less get my Crayons, so I finally got them and dumped them out on the coffee table, closed my eyes and felt for just the right one-
Blue!!!!!
Makes sense, my photo printer is always running out of blue, photo blue, cyan and so forth, so Blue it is!  Yippee!  Now, it’s time to color!
One of the locals that I know works at the printing press for our funny little newspaper, and, when I ask him, he will bring me the end-rolls of newsprint for whatever my imagination can concoct.  I bet your kids in school would have a blast with several of these rolls!  Yards and yards of blank paper!

Ah..so mead is a potent dose of sunshine is it?
;)

Coloring on the walls might be fun…but maybe I’d regret it less later if I cover them with some of Geo’s newsprint first.  I love newsprint!  It feels so “informal”, so you feel free to mess it up.

Newsprint paper can be the best because of its blankness, I feel I can do anything and everything with it.  I have even printed a few of my B&W photos on and I rather like the effect.  But, making time-lines, running stories about adventures and practicing calligraphy are just a few.  Keep the Crayons close at hand, tho!  And lots and lots of Blue!  And scissors, you can make some amazing paper airplanes and origami, too.  Then you get to color them!

If I were a colour what would I be? Either silvery or golden and reflective like a mirror but with a radiate glow from inside, kinda iridescent and luminous.

WOW!
Hi Everyone!
Geo,
Blue does seem to fit you!  Yes, rolls of newsprint can be loads of fun.  It’s always great to let your inner child play.  Great suggestion!

Flowerchildatheart,
Get your crayons… Geo’s already got the paper… I’ll bring the calligraphy pens the scissors and the glue.  We can have a creative festival… let’s see what we can create!

Mum’s the Word and Michael,
Mead is some strong stuff!

Hi Jenni and Peace Seeker,
Thanks for visiting.  I’m glad you enjoyed your time here.

Dean,
Cool choices!  Iridescent and luminous… sparkly and flashy!
Hugs!

Geo,
I was listening to Greg Brown’s Mississippi Moon on my way home from work tonight.  I forgot about that tangerine moon that shows itself from time to time… that HUGE harvest moon that seems to take up the entire horizon.  I forgot to list that on my blog.

Thanks for introducing me to Greg Brown’s music… it is magical stuff.
Hugs!

Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon” always comes to mind when I am on the Cape.  Several years ago, I was out in P’town having dinner at Bubala’s by the Bay, sitting outside.  I looked up at one point and notice the huge, yellow, tangerine and orange moon pulling itself from the sea.  I pointed it out to my dinner partner, and we both got up to look.  The next thing we knew, the entire outside section of the restaurant was crowding the rail to simply take in such a simplistic, complex, beautiful and mysterious sight all at the same time.  Yes, moons, Greg Brown’s, Neil Young’s, yours, mine and newsprint, all good!

I once saw a moon sooo big, that it covered the whole bottom of the earths  horizon I was looking upon, from right to left….swear t’ god!  It was Halloween night, and you think any one can remember that??!!….uh…uhh.
Seems like I was the only one with straight eye balls, that took in that most glorious sight one could Ever imagine.  It was sooo HUGE, and rising as we went from door to door, that by the time trigger-treating was over, the moon was up in the sky as always.
It’s branded into my memory for ever….that’s for sure!  What an amazing moon,
it was.

Geo,
It must have been one of those impressive things…  I can just see it in my mind’s eye, and your words “pulling itself from the sea” is the perfect way to describe it!

Mum’s the Word,
Oh, how I wish I had been there!

As I was taking the train home last night, I was soaking in a little music from my ipod, and I realized something… I’m more tangerine that I realize.  My jacket is tangerine in color, my hat is wooly tangerine mixed with other hues, and so is my scarf, although my scarf is tangerine, navy and white plaid…
I chuckled at my discovery.  Some of my friends make fun of my tangerine jacket.  I like it.  It’s me…
Hugs!
