What do you think about when you're feeling down?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for August 19, 2008:
When I'm down and all out of sorts, I try to remind myself that I'm stronger than my situation... I will make it through. But sometimes even I am not strong enough to do it alone. It's at times like those, that I like to surround myself with my friends... they are an amazing support system for me. My friends echo the James Taylor song You've Got A Friend (written by the amazing and talented Carole King), and their words ring true...
When youre down and troubled
And you need a helping hand
And nothing, whoa nothing is going right.
Close your eyes and think of me
And soon I will be there
To brighten up even your darkest nights.
Winter spring summer or fall,
Hey now, all you've got to do is call.
Lord, I'll be there, yes I will.
You've got a friend.
You've got a friend.
Aint it good to know you've got a friend.
My friends also know that I'll be there for them... in silence, when silence is needed (yes, I do know how to be quiet) and in conversation when talking things out is better. Having wonderful friends is a blessing. I love seeing things through their eyes - sometimes it all has to do with a simple shift in perspective in order to see the rainbow through the rain.
