Tripping...

Flying with two children can be loads of fun. Little did I know that my children wouldn't be able to handle flying... NOT exactly the thing to find out when you're traveling 7 hours and 20 minutes on one plane, spending 2 1/2 hours on layover and then traveling another 1 hour 45 minutes on a connecting flight! I can laugh about it now, but I was almost ready to cry yesterday. Both of my beautiful daughters were green. They finally fell asleep, but unfortunately, I was unable to get a wink of rest. Why, you might ask? Well... I was kind of like a kangaroo with a reverse pouch... the lady behind me had a young child. That child sat behind me and kicked my butt and banged on the back of my chair for the ENTIRE trip. I had written a REALLY cool blog on MY barf bag... Hey, it was the only paper that I could find in the middle of the night on a plane full of sleeping people. Very few of us were actually awake. Three major players were responsible for keeping me awake. I digress... I was going to call it the Barf Bag Blog. WELL, we got to London, and My oldest daughter was sick in the middle of walking from point A to point B. One barf bag down. We walked from point B to point C, and my youngest daughter felt sick. I only had one barf bag left... you got it! My barf bag blog bag. My little one winced. "But it's your blog bag, mommy!" "It's okay, I stated. Use it, it's all that we've got." She used it, and my blog got thrown away in a trash bin at London's Heathrow airport!
Tripping with children is interesting. I visited the pharmacist today and got some motion sickness medication. I don't want to have a repeat experience on the way home.
Today, we went into a 541 year-old church. On Sunday, we will go up into the bell tower and see Augsburg from a bird's eye view. Cobblestone streets and beautiful buildings... Spending time with my daughters and my Dad. I guess it was all worth enduring a little bit of barf!

Your barf bag blog!! Laughing out LOUD here at my client's place (he looks puzzled for a moment)…
Thanks for this late breaking news. Glad the bag didn't break.
Oh Susan! Oh you poor thing….the poor kids…..! I am glad you're there, now, that you made it safe & almost sound. Oh those are the moments in life when you wonder what the heck you're doing traveling anyway…. My daughter and I had a night like that in the Rome airport last spring, and she was 21 years old, and it was still tough. Enjoy the time from now on! It's bound to get better. !
Hello Heemes and Centria!
I know I've only been gone a day or so, but I miss you guys already!
I am also glad that the barf bag didn't break. I would have sat down and cried… and I did wonder why I had attempted to travel alone with two children. Life doesn't stand still and wait. I've just got to grab the bull by the horns and get out there… at least I learned something new about my daughters in the process. LOL!
Hugs to both of you.

Susan,
I am impressed in that no one has ever used one of my blogs as a barf bag! We need to get you a cute little notepad to avoid future barf induced lost blogs…

after 911…any trip you take…regardless…with kids or not…it's a trip from hell. Our trip last April was horrible. In a couple of weeks we'll be flying to S.C. for a week on the ocean…only to use up the free passes we got for all the inconvenience the airline put us through the last time we traveled. We had no one barfing but our youngest child passed out after running from one airline to the next and then, we were told there was no room for us on the plane. Oh God…it was hell…both ways. Our eldest daughter had to take a seperate flight back to Buffalo…and our bags didn't come in until the next day. This year…if shit like this begins to happen, I am going to stick my finger down my throat and barf on someone.
hope you feel good today and and have a nice sight seeingtour in london ..are your kids ok.. hope so .love andrea
Eric!
Perhaps you can scare up a free notepad on one of your free shopping sprees… and when we get to meet (with Lisa and some other Gaians in NYC) you can give it to me. LOL! I love your blogs. They're real. Even when they're sad. Hugs to you.
Maze!
Hopefully this round of traveling goes better for you. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
Sea-sh-elle!
The girls are better. We are in Germany… Augsburg - visiting OPA (my dad)! So far, so good.
