The Hooters - And We Danced
Thanks to Amber for bringing this video up... The opening scene had me laughing out loud and it brought back ALL kinds of memories! There is a drive-in up in South Wellfleet, MA - out on Cape Cod. The Wellfleet Drive-In Theater. It is the only drive-in that I know of - a little piece of nostalgia. We used to go to the drive-in, and yes, we used to pile into the trunk so we could save some money. My last words before the trunk closed were always "And if you don't open this trunk up RIGHT after you go through the booth, I'm going to kill you when I get out!" I hated being in the trunk, but I loved the idea that I was getting away with something... AS IF the guy in the booth didn't suspect something... here was a big, huge convertible going through the booth with only two people in it, and then driving out with 6 or 7 people 2 1/2 hours later! LOL! Oh, Amber! Thanks for bringing back great memories... great song, too! I used to love And We Danced by The Hooters. Woo, Hoo! Let's all dance today!

You are becoming my musical muse, #1. We have one musical mind, it seems. And a sense of adventure when it comes to getting away with stuff, LOL.
Amber!! You rock out for this one!
Guess what! This video was filmed just a few minutes away from where I am right now!
It is all 100% different from this now - totally 'developed.' =P
But yes, that is a good song!
Heemes,
What can I say?!? Great minds think alike! :-) I do have a sense of adventure… getting away with stuff, especially when you're locked in the trunk of a car, can really get the blood pumping!!
Emma,
Cool! It figures that undeveloped land just doesn't stay that way… did they put up a strip mall, or cookie cutter homes?
Glad you guys stopped by!
Hugs!

Just clicked on the Wellfleet link and, guess what, I went to a theater down the road from me yesterday and saw not one, but two movies. Kung Fu Panda and Wall-E! Those are the first two movies listed at Wellfleet! Damn! This serendipity thing is just awesome!
btw, both movies were excellent with important messages.
Two drive-ins, one in Manchester, NH where we went and accidentially ripped two speakers out upon leaving cuz we fogged up windows making out!
The other, Litchfield NH…known for its X rated movies…remember the old bench seats in convertibles? There were men, all by themselves sitting in the middle of the bench seats…hmmmm….and in the mens room(according to my then BF) a bathtub trough for a latrine! LOL
:) ah memories!
Cool, I put on this music video and went into the kitchen to listen to it, and these two baby fawns with spots just started racing around the yard. I mean they were chasing each other at top speeds like wild & crazy youngsters! Maybe they were dancing deer. :)
As for getting in a closed trunk, yikes! Claustrophobic! I suppose getting away with something would have had to be a big incentive to do something like that….
Heemes,
The last time I went to the Wellfleet Drive-In, I saw the double feature! Can't beat two movies back to back… especially not when they are shown under the night sky! I haven't seen either movie, but I'll put them on my list of movies to see!
Aley,
LMAO! Too funny. Hope you didn't damage the car. Two in NH… I wonder if they're still there. If they are, the next time I visit my brother, we should round up the troops and hit the drive-in. Not the x-rated one, though! LOL!
Kathy,
I love watching young fawns. I love how they race, romp and jump. They are so cute! You are lucky to have seen such a beautiful sight. Maybe they could hear your music playing! :-) A few years ago, I had two young fawns in my back yard. They were precious. Thank you for sharing! Did you happen to get a picture of them?
Glad that all of you enjoyed the music.
Have a magical day!
I’m not sure if it is anything close to what Kathy’s fawns look like, but two of my favorite fawns just appeared on her Grapevine. It took a little bit of coding (3 times to get the width right!), but I think it’s precious nonetheless.
Blessings to everyone.
The South Wellfleet drive-in! Argh! How could you know that it was what I have been thinking about all this late morning as I finally got out of bed. Sheesh, I have been longing to sit out there and take in the late movie as well as the heavy sea air, then a quick drive up to P-Town for Spiritus pizza before calling it a night. Ahhhhhh. And, my perfect days always start with breakfast at The Wicked Oyster! Mmmmm, Beanstock coffee!
Love the video, love the clothes and the hairstyles, too! Yikes, was that really back in '85?
Geo, as Heemes would say, now that's serendipity! I didn't think that there was anyone who would actually know about the South Wellfleet drive-in! That's crazy… see this blog was MEANT to be! LOL! The double feature seems to last forever… and the heavy sea air, you should see what it does to my hair! Ahhhh… you make me long for The Cape! I may just have to go there… real soon.
Yummy! All that food talk has made me hungry… (licking my lips)
Hugs!

Hey, Be-Bop-Baby! Everyone who is anyone knows about the Wellfleet Drive-In! And the WHAT for live theater, too! I bet your hair gets Ab/Fab with the sea air! Mine sticks straight up if it's short enough, like it is now. I have a natural mohawk that takes loads of either water or “product” to get it to behave, mostly. If you head out, stop at The Chocolate Sparrow for snackies and treats!
OK, back to my Crayons!
Geo,
We are probably renting a house on The Cape next summer. You should pencil in some time and come stay with us. Your photos are always so beautiful… I would love to see what you could capture if you were in the sand/ocean element!
Enjoy the Crayons… still drawing and coloring lighthouses and sea walls? Throw in a gull or two while you're at it! <wink, wink!>
Pencil me in for the dates, I will wait for them, Be-Bob, and then I would love to show up, camera in hand! Color me Waiting!
Smooches,
Geo
Wow! An entire line of 80's babies out there! I'm so glad I wasn't the only one with a love for the Nervous Nights album! Unfortunately, I had the second largest Caddy in the entire school but our drive in's had closed. I'm a late 80's baby I guess! I was the designated driver though for any parties at the beach stuff!
My green Caddy could hold 4 in the front seat, 5 or 6 in the back seat and I could have put a boat load of people in the trunk but we used that to stash the things we needed for comfort at the beach!
Susan and the gang, if you do end up renting a place could I come too? I'd be real quiet and I'd bring my color crayons and extra paper! We're getting together out here on the West coast the 1, 2, and 3 of August! Anybody wanna do a quick trip to the Oregon coast?! We'd love to see you there!
Smilez!
amber
Amber,
There's ALWAYS room for you. I'd love to have you there as well! I will keep you in the loop about when and where.
Hugs!!
