What are you being a voice for?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for May 15, 2008:
Those who are too afraid to speak... the children that I teach every day. The broken, the sad, the unsure, the bullied, the gawky, the pretty, the overconfident, the ones who don't speak English, the abused, the burdened, the worried, those who have seen WAY too much, the hungry, the poor, those without and those with... I speak for the scared, those of low esteem, for those who feel so very small in this big world, the searching, those without the words to express themselves, the angry, the oppressed... those who have lost all hope. One voice - that's all I am, but that's all I need to be. My ex-husband used to get so mad at me because I was so passionate about my job. "Sue! You can't save the world!" he'd always tell me. I can't tell you how many times I've thought about those words. Each time I do, I've always come to the same conclusion... you're wrong. I can save children... one at a time, by being a voice for them.
Billy Gilman - One Voice

“For Me, everyday I see the passion and commitment that comes naturally from within you.” “ As time moves along, those past memories will only help you to rise above the bullshit.” ” Be surrounded by friends and family that support and care, not ones that knock you down.” “Recognize the difference and stay true to yourself.” I'm right beside you!!! ~K
Wow! I wish I had somebody like you when I was growing up. So many speaking people saw and did not voice a thing… thank you for your voice!!!! Your one voice may not 'save the world', BUT!!!! your ONE VOICE could save (and sounds like it has saved) the worldS of MANY!!!!
Trailryder - thank you for your support!
Recyclefriend - I am lucky enough to have a job that I love. I look forward to finding new ways to reach my students. Every child is salvageable… you just have to put in the effort to find the way to do the saving!
