Hey... I Know You! A Surprise Meeting

     I was on the way to the tax accountant this morning.  The girls and I didn't have school, so the girls were in tow...  We stopped by our local Bruegger's Bagels to grab the girls something to eat while we drove.

     I stepped out of my car and took a step or two.  A  man's voice called out a clear and definate "Susan!"  Was I hearing things?  I turned around slowly and scanned the parking lot in a 180 degree sweep.  A man was approaching me.  I scanned his face.  I couldn't place it.  "Do I know you?", I replied.  I was still scanning and FRANTICALLY thinking.  Hmmm... he kind of looks like my friend, Ralph.  But it wasn't Ralph.  Hmmm.... I was grasping for something... anything.  "Should I know you?", I asked.  He laughed, extended his hand in a handshake and said, "I'm kicksave!"  It was Gerry from Gaia!  We were meeting face to face... finally.  I smiled a huge smile. 

      Meanwhile, my mind was racing a mile a minute.  OMG!  I couldn't believe that he a) recognized me and b) that he basically knew me from seeing the back of my head!  LOL!  Gerry and I were supposed to meet at a road race in December.  We were going to run the race in celebration of Gerry's birthday, but the weather was really snowy and icy and the race was re-scheduled... neither of us could make the re-scheduled date! 

     We chatted and the whole time I just couldn't get a grip on the fact that we had randomly bumped into one another!  I've been smiling all day.  Now I have a face to go along with the name... I know what he looks like when all of the hockey gear is off... LOL!  I am pretty impressed that he had already gotten some hockey in before work.  Cool... that's all I keep on saying to myself.  Really cool!  I'm STILL smiling!
