Words Of Wisdom From John Denver

Okay, so working in an elementary school has its perks...
It's the day before Christmas break... a half day at that.
The kids are all SUGARED up and the teachers drop them off at my classroom with tears in their eyes-
Hey, those aren't sentimental tears... they are tears of JOY!
Why, you ask?
Well, because they know the kids can't keep still even if their little lives depended on it...
THAT'S WHY!
So, in a moment of down time, a small discussion of voices and such came up.
Voices like Alvin from Alvin and the Chipmunks, or the REDRUM voice and Ralphie from the Simsons (Jenn's the master of voices)... all of a sudden, Kristen, the music teacher exclaims "I know how to do the Miss Piggy voice!" We all start to laugh... The Muppets... we are all instantly transported back to our childhoods!
Before we knew it, we were singing The Twelve Days of Christmas with John Denver and The Muppets... Sorry about the quality, but remember, this was WAY before HD TV! LOL!

12 days of Christmas - Muppets & John Denver
Beautiful.
We reminisced about John Denver and how great his music is.
Then we played the next video...
John Denver again...
A Christmas Together-
Christmas is a time to come together, a time to put all differences aside.
And I reach out my hand to the family of man
to share the joy I feel at Christmas time.
For the truth that binds us all together, I would like to say a simple prayer.
That at this special time, you will have true peace of mind
and love to last throughout the coming year.
And if you believe in love, that will be more than enough
for peace to last throughout the coming year.
And peace on earth will last throughout the year.
I've got the chills now.
Wishing you and yours the best Holiday ever...
one full of peace, love and friendship.
May your heart truly be happy...
May this be the time when you feel like you belong to everyone's family...
Like you belong wherever you are...
And in the words of the late John Denver-
"You see, life is a very special kind of thing, not just for a chosen few.
But for each and every living breathing thing. Not just me and you.
So in your Christmas prayers this year, Alfie asked me if I'd ask you
to say a prayer for the wind, and the water, and the wood,
and those who live there, too."
Hope your heart is as full of hope as mine is right now!
Hugs!

Help

Lol to you too !
I just loved this.
If you ever need an assistant in your classroom, just give me a call :)
Elke… COME ON DOWN… Jenn just said my heart is small… and she's leaving in a few months, so we WILL have an opening! Come and join the circus that I call my life!
I can start selecting cute You Tube videos for the kids. Deal ?
Make a “kids corner” on your profile and I write you a fairy tail. You check my spelling :)
I LOVE the Muppets!! Wasn't it great to grow up in the 70s:)
Thanks for bringing back the memories!
Deal, Elke… what do you have in mind for a fairy tale… nothing too Brother's Grimm now…
Elizabeth… The Muppets are great… remember the show? LOL The 70's were great, and an especially great time to grow up.
No;no. A “modern” fairy tale ( my spelling,hu. You have to come in there). About Zaadz. perhaps ?
Love it… What a great idea… Maybe we should do it as a Fairy Tale (yes, a tail is on an animal) in the round… someone starts and writes some. Then the next person writes some and stops. So on and so forth… something to think about!
Deal.
Let me think about it. I have indeed an idea of a storyline, but it has to mature a bit in my head.
I'll lkick the thing off ok.
Who's in ?
Hi Susan,
Did Jenn tell you that the Twelve Days of Christmas by John Denver was a song she remembered from her childhood?
:-( Jenn is leaving in a few months.
Absolutely! Thank you for this one.
As the kids in Johnny's school finished their last couple of days, they all started getting quite antsy too. You could tell they NEEDED a break. The schools also “freak out”, blowing incidents out of proportion instead of realizing what kids are all about.
AND!! I love the muppets too!!
Snow Moon… Jenn tells me everything - LOL! We have so much fun every day. Her goofy voices were the catalyst for the whole Muppet segue! We reminisced about John Denver and then had a big laugh when we found out that the three of us (the music teacher included) owned the best of CD!
I'm going to miss her. I really wish she didn't have to go…
Fee, figuring out children and how they tick is my life. Children aren't that difficult to figure out if you just take the time to try. The kids get antsy and all sugared up just before the holidays… c'mon, they're excited about the time off and the presents and such. We ALL need a break right about now, and before you know it, we'll be countin' down the days until February break too! LOL!
LOL Susan…You three have the best moments together! You have been a good friend to her…thank you!
I'm going to miss her too! She's my baby girl. I'm sad already!
hello Susan,
Please! please! may i join the circus too.
